Dear o2s - past, present, and future – the time has come to (re)join forces and use innovation, and ingenuity to find elegant solutions to Earth’s many pressing environmental, social, and economic problems.
Our world is in a liminal space between the old, extractive, exploitive, growth-at-all-costs model, and a new, just, wise, equitable and regenerative one.
However, this new model is not inevitable. It can only be realized if all are fully committed and fully engaged. And as always Design can play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the change that is needed.
Sunday, 31 October 2021 marks the relaunch of the o2.org website as a platform for communication and collaboration among people who are committed to designing a better world. This relaunch coincides with the start of COP26, where representatives from the 197 Parties to the UNFCCC will gather in Glasgow to finalize the Paris (Agreement) Rulebook and present ambitious 2030 emissions reductions targets necessary to reach net zero by 2050.
While plans, pledges and signatures are important, only real action will make a difference.
